West London(West London)May 17,2026-Olympia, London’s landmark exhibition and events venue in West London, is moving into a new phase of its redevelopment this summer, with a fresh line-up of bars, restaurants, hotels and live entertainment spaces due to open from June 2026. The development is part of the wider £1.3 billion transformation of the 140-year-old site, with the first wave of hospitality openings centred around the new rooftop Canopy and further launches due to follow across the estate.

What is opening at Olympia?

As reported by the team behind the rollout, the first venues under The Canopy will open on 15 June 2026 and will include Bar Arriba, Wolves of Tokyo and Lillie’s. Bar Arriba is described as a Mexican-inspired hangout with small plates and cocktails, while Wolves of Tokyo is a Japanese restaurant and cocktail bar inspired by Tokyo’s late-night scene. Lillie’s will focus on seasonal British small plates paired with English sparkling wine and champagne.

The same opening wave also includes Arbour, a multi-concept food hall that will bring together four different food and drink concepts. Those concepts are Fry Baby, The Rambler, Whammy Burger and Café Modo, offering everything from gourmet fried chicken and farm-to-fork dishes to smashed burgers and artisan coffee. The addition of a food hall suggests Olympia is aiming for a broader all-day visitor offer rather than a single-occasion dining destination.

What has already opened?

Earlier openings at Pillar Hall are already part of the project’s hospitality mix, and they help set the tone for what Olympia is trying to build. The venue’s current offer includes Idalia, which is described as a vibrant all-day restaurant, and Pepperbird, an intimate speakeasy-style bar inspired by Olympia’s musical heritage.

Pillar Hall is also set to add a larger entertainment element later in the year through Upstairs at Pillar Hall, a 500-plus capacity live music and events venue scheduled to open in the autumn. The mix of dining, drinking and performance spaces indicates that Olympia is being repositioned as a broader leisure district rather than only an exhibition venue.

Which hotels are coming?

The redevelopment is not limited to food and drink. Hyatt Regency London Olympia is scheduled to open on 6 July 2026, while citizenM London Olympia is also expected to arrive in early summer.

These hotel openings matter because they extend the site’s role beyond day visitors and event-goers. With overnight accommodation now part of the plan, Olympia is aiming to capture business travellers, concert audiences and visitors who may stay longer in the area.

Why does this matter?

Olympia’s latest openings are part of a much larger attempt to rework a well-known London venue into a destination with multiple reasons to visit. The project combines hospitality, live entertainment and public space within a major refurbishment of a historic site that has stood for around 140 years.

The emphasis on “only-at-Olympia” venues under The Canopy also suggests the operators want the new restaurants and bars to feel site-specific rather than generic. That branding approach is designed to make the estate more distinctive in a crowded London leisure market.

How is the opening being staged?

The rollout appears to be phased rather than a single launch date. The first wave of bars and restaurants is due in mid-June, the Hyatt Regency follows in early July, and the live events venue at Upstairs at Pillar Hall is planned for autumn.

That staged approach gives Olympia time to build attention across the summer and keep the redevelopment in the news over several months. It also means visitors are likely to see the estate evolve gradually rather than all at once.

Background of this development

Olympia has long been known as a major events venue in West London, but the current project is reshaping it into a wider mixed-use destination. The redevelopment is being carried out as a £1.3 billion scheme and includes new hospitality, cultural and public spaces alongside the existing exhibition role.

The site’s heritage also matters here. Pillar Hall is a Grade II*-listed building dating back to 1886, which places the newer openings within a historic setting rather than a completely new-build development.

What is the outlook for visitors?

For visitors, the development is likely to mean more choice for dining, drinking and staying overnight in one place. That could make Olympia more attractive for event attendees, local residents and tourists who want a single destination with multiple uses.

For the wider area, the changes may increase footfall around Kensington Olympia station and support the estate’s shift into a more active day-to-night destination. The impact will depend on how quickly the venues establish themselves, but the scale of the rollout suggests Olympia is being positioned for sustained use rather than short-term novelty.
