Two shops in Southall are going to be fined because Ealing Council and the Metropolitan Police are getting though on people who leave rubbish on The Green.
The shops will have to pay £300 fines, because they did not give the Southall Green Safer Neighbourhood Team the valid trade waste agreements when they were asked for them.
On 17 August 2026, the police and council officers went to the area to deal with rubbish that was being left on The Green, Osterley Park road and a backside alley.
People living in flats above shops must leave their rubbish at the collection points next to 72 and 94 The Green. Business owners need to know where to put their waste.
The Council is going to give warnings to people living and owning land in the area affected to tell them how they can help stop waste and fly-tipping in the alleyway.
Posting on Met Engage, PCSO Disha Varsani, of Southall Green Safer Neighbourhood Team said:
“These measures are intended to reduce the accumulation of domestic and commercial waste on the footway and prevent obstruction of the highway.
“The overall objective of these measures is to establish clear waste management arrangements and reduce, with the ultimate aim of eliminating, the persistent fly-tipping issues.”
